CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on process that helps the body release tension and return to a more settled, balanced state.

Using light, precise touch, I listen to how your system is carrying areas of tension or restriction. Rather than forcing change, this work allows the body to release what it is ready to let go of.

People often come because of pain or discomfort that has not fully resolved. As sessions progress, many notice greater physical ease, stability, and a deeper sense of calm.

How This Work Unfolds

Listen

Each session begins by listening.

Through gentle contact, I follow subtle motion within the tissues and nervous system. Areas that have been holding areas of tension often reveal themselves naturally, without needing to be forced or searched for.

This listening allows the work to follow your body’s priorities.

Release

As the nervous system settles, areas of tension can begin to release.

Sometimes this feels like softening, unwinding, or a shift in internal pressure. These changes happen on their own, as the body lets go of patterns it has been maintaining.

Nothing is forced from the outside.

Reorganization

As areas of restriction release, the body begins to function with greater ease and efficiency.

Movement often feels more natural, and the nervous system becomes more steady.

These changes continue to integrate between sessions.

What to Expect

Sessions are quiet and deeply restful. You remain fully clothed, lying comfortably on the table.

Touch is gentle and precise, allowing areas of tension to release naturally. Some people notice changes quickly, while for others shifts unfold gradually over time.

This is a steady process that supports lasting change.

FAQs

  • Touch is gentle and precise. Most people experience it as subtle, yet deeply relaxing.

As areas of tension release, you may notice softening, warmth, gentle pulsing, or a sense of tissue unwinding. Some people feel shifts in pressure, deeper breathing, or small involuntary movements as the nervous system settles. Others simply notice a growing sense of ease.

There is nothing you need to do. The process unfolds naturally as your body releases what it is ready to let go of.

  • CranioSacral Therapy uses a much lighter touch and a different intention than massage.

Rather than working primarily through pressure or manipulation of muscles, the focus is on listening to the nervous system and supporting the body’s own release of restriction. The work is less about doing to the body, and more about creating the conditions for change to occur naturally.

Both approaches can be valuable. CranioSacral Therapy is especially helpful for addressing deeper, long-held patterns that may not fully resolve through strong structural work alone.

  • CranioSacral Therapy supports the body’s natural ability to release tension and function more comfortably.

People seek CranioSacral Therapy for a wide range of concerns, including chronic pain, neck and back discomfort, headaches, jaw tension, and unresolved injuries.

It is also common for people to come when symptoms have persisted despite other treatments, or when they are looking for a more complete and lasting resolution.

The work supports the body’s natural ability to regulate, heal, and function with greater ease.

  • This varies from person to person.

Some people notice meaningful changes within a few sessions. Others benefit from a longer process, especially when patterns have developed over many years.

We will continually assess how your body responds and adjust the plan accordingly. The goal is always lasting change, not ongoing dependency.

Expect to begin with 4-6 sessions.

  • No. You can simply rest.

There is nothing you need to control or perform. The work happens naturally as your nervous system settles and the body begins to release tension.

Many people find the sessions deeply restful.

  • No. The touch used in CranioSacral Therapy is gentle and non-forceful.

The work does not rely on pushing, stretching, or manipulation. Instead, it allows the body to release tension at its own pace, which makes it comfortable and safe for people with both recent and long-standing concerns.

  • Craniosacral Therapy is gentle and generally well tolerated. However, as with any bodywork there are a few things to keep in mind:

Temporary Discomfort: Some clients experience mild soreness after a session, similar to what you might feel after a therapeutic massage or a workout. This typically resolves within a day or two.

Emotional Release: Because this work engages the nervous system and fascia, emotional responses may arise during or after a session. This is a normal part of the healing process and can be a sign that your body is letting go of stored tension.

Fatigue or General Soreness: A small percentage of clients report feeling tired, lightheaded, or experiencing mild soreness following a CranioSacral Therapy session. These effects are usually short-lived as the body adjusts.

If you have any specific medical conditions or concerns, be sure to include them on your intake forms so we can ensure that CranioSacral Therapy is right for you. Your safety, comfort, and well-being are our top priorities.

  • I’ve been a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist since 2017 and have spent more than a decade working hands-on with the body.

My training spans Craniosacral Therapy (Upledger CST and SER), Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue, Thai Bodywork, Orthopedic Massage, and more. My background in communication and many years teaching yoga helps me connect with clients clearly and meaningfully.

As my practice has matured, I’ve become increasingly grounded in the science of how the body functions and adapts. And while I rely on anatomy and physiology to inform my hands, I also stay open to the quieter aspects of healing, the meaningful shifts that people feel even when we can’t fully explain them.

My aim is to offer care that is thoughtful, respectful, and attuned to both what we understand about the body and what we are still learning.
